What is The Drop-In Nest?
We are a virtual mental health drop-in center designed to provide same-day and next-day support during times of crisis or distress. Think of us as the bridge between long-term therapy and urgent need.
Do I need to be an existing client to call?
No. You do not need to have an existing therapist or prior relationship with us. We welcome anyone in need of immediate emotional support.
How quickly can I see a therapist?
After a brief phone intake, most clients are connected with a therapist that same day – often within hours – or the next day.
What kinds of issues can I call about?
We help with both acute psychiatric concerns and situational crises. Examples include:
- Anxiety or panic attacks that feel overwhelming
- Intense sadness, hopelessness, or emotional distress
- Relationship conflicts or breakups
- Grieving the loss of a loved one
- Stress following a new medical diagnosis or health scare
- Coping with sudden job loss, financial hardship, or housing stress
- Overwhelm from caregiving, parenting, or family strain
- Feeling isolated, unsupported, or in need of immediate emotional care
What if I am experiencing a life-threatening emergency?
If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, self-harm, or any life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. The Drop-In Nest is not a substitute for emergency services.
